My name is Carl Menros. I represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and region 3 of the state of the American address contest. The issue I am most concerned about is Pennsylvania's digital divide. The lack of reliable, affordable, high-speed internet in many communities. According to the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority, more than 129,000 locations across our Commonwealth still lack high-speed internet service. I believe this issue adversely affects the founding principle that all people are created equal. Today, education, employment, business, healthcare, and civic opportunities increasingly depend on reliable internet access. I will briefly explain how we can move America closer to that principle. High-speed internet is no longer a luxury. It is essential infrastructure. Closing the digital divide will require responsible public investment, private sector competition, and accountable use of available funding. It will also require affordable service for families and practical digital skills training. This is not a partisan issue. A child in rural Pennsylvania should have the same opportunity to learn and succeed as a child in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
