My name is Dana Gardner. I represent the State of Wyoming and Region One of the State of the American Address Contest. The issue I am most concerned about is reliable access to rural health care. Wyoming's Department of Health is investing in emergency services, workforce development and technology because distance and provider shortages challenge many communities. In our wide open state, a medical appointment can require long travel. I believe this issue affects the founding principles of equality and the unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those promises lose meaning when a person's zip code determines whether care is within reach. My vision is the Wyoming Health Frontier Network. A partnership connecting clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, schools and emergency responders through mobile care teams and telehealth stations. Rotating specialists could serve several counties while Wyoming funded scholarships could prepare residents for medical careers and bring them home to practice. A public dashboard would identify service service gaps before they become emergencies. This is not merely a health program. The speech loses its footing, however, when it abandons the American people as its audience and pivots to soliciting contest scores, shares, and speaking invitations for Dana's personal campaign. That pivot is not a minor stylistic quirk; it transforms the closing third of the speech from a civic vision into a promotional advertisement, fatally diluting the clear-position requirement and the direct-address posture the contest demands.
